The S3 headset shares many of its features with the more expensive S-8 model, with only minimal concessions to quality. In addition to its replaceable sealed cartridge bearings, the S-3 shares the overhanging cup/cover design of the S-8's to keep contaminants such as dirt & moisture from reaching the bearings.The Aluminum cups and upper cover (which shields the bearings) make for a light, good-quality headset
